Career
Dr. Christina Ioanna Pappa was a research associate and doctoral candidate under Prof. Dr. Daniel Pittich at the Chair of Technical Education at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) from October 2019 to February 2024. As part of her doctoral research, she developed and evaluated a professional development program for primary school teachers in the fields of science and technology. The focus of her work was on fostering teacher competencies, particularly in terms of technological self-efficacy, subject-specific self-concept, and action-oriented instructional design. She successfully completed her doctorate in February 2024 and has since continued her research as a postdoctoral researcher.
Before joining the Technical University of Munich, she earned a degree in Education from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and completed the master’s program “Research on Teaching and Learning” at TUM. Throughout her career, she has been involved in several projects, including the international EuroTeQ project and research initiatives on the digitalization of educational programs. Her current research interests focus on analyzing and promoting teaching competencies, systematically developing professional development programs, and investigating barriers and needs in technology education at primary schools.
