Master Vocational Education and Innovation

Objectives

The program aims to qualify professionals for the rapidly changing vocational education and training (VET) field. Through active learning experiences, students will proactively engage in VET key areas, such as teaching and learning, research, governance, management and leadership. Graduates from this program will be well-prepared for leading positions in various professional contexts in interdisciplinary and multicultural teams.

Target Group

The program is aimed at a broad range of national and international professionals. Some are working in or intend to pursue managing and/ or leading positions in the field of VET, for example, in ministries, chambers, companies, and associations, while others have teaching positions in educational institutions such as vocational schools and universities.

Requirements

Prospective students are required to hold a Bachelor’s degree in pedagogy, business, culture, social, technology or natural sciences after studying for at least six semesters or equivalent qualification in a vocational education and training relevant subject. At least one year of work experience and evidence of an adequate level of English proficiency is required.

Degree Program Structure

The program will be delivered primarily online, apart from four on-site sessions (each one week) plus one week of job-shadowing in Munich in a part-time format. It consists of nine core modules (52 ECTS) taught through the first three semesters, one specialization module (8 credits) as part of the fourth semester, and writing a Master’s Thesis (30 ECTS) in the fourth and fifth semesters.
