Start of the cross-national lecture series on the didactics of nutrition and home economics

For the winter semester 2023-24, on the initiative of Dr. Gabriela Leitner and Dr. Susanne Miesera, the lecture series starts Challenges and Megatrends in the Didactics of Nutrition and Home Economics 11 locations in Germany and Austria are participating

The lecture series is aimed at all interested student teachers, teachers, scientists and lecturers in vocational education at universities in Germany and Austria in the subject didactics of nutrition and home economics

 

The focus is on getting to know, expanding, deepening and dissemination theories, models, approaches and focal points of subject didactics,. Further information can be found in the flyer

Fachdidaktik der Ernährungs- und Hauswirtschaftswissenschaften (FD EH)

Basic module:

 

  • 1st semester MA (winter semester only)
    EH FD I: Identifying and analysing educationally relevant contents of the vocational field of EH and applying them to the planning of teaching units; working with curricula oriented learning fields; dealing with different vocational socialisations within a vocational field.
  • 2nd semester MA (summer semester only)
    EH FD II

    Teaching and learning arrangements: applying teaching concepts and findings from learning psychology and neuroscience; getting to know subject-specific methods; applying current teaching concepts (e.g. action orientation, self-organised learning, open teaching) to the circumstances of the individual subject classes; getting to know and using subject-specific methods; professional use of teaching materials.

Advanced module:

  • 3rd semester MA (winter semester only)
    EH FD III:
    • Practical school studies: conception and implementation of own teaching; observation; academic monitoring of practical school experiences; development of the students' teaching competences; examination and assessment in teaching; evaluation of teaching 
    • Practical course in teaching (SFP)
               (school internship)

Subject didactics III consists of two parts: the school internship and the accompanying event at the university. These two parts must be taken simultaneously.

Inclusion-oriented teacher training

Basic knowledge of inclusion

 

Participants learn the prerequisites of special needs education and individual support, awareness of the diversity of students, connections between diversity including its potential and disadvantages, especially with regard to school and (further) education; concepts of inclusive schooling at vocational schools; discussion of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and other legal foundations, analysis of the relevant regulations, application of inclusion concepts in the classroom.

Inclusive didactics in vocational schools

Getting to know concepts of inclusive education in vocational schools. Examination of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, German and Bavarian legal foundations and analysis of the relevant provisions, application of knowledge to vocationally specific teaching concepts.

School in the digital transformation

The changes in schools and companies are shaped by the digital transformation. Prospective teachers are required to deal with digital transformation processes in the vocational field and across vocational fields. This teaching enables students to get to know concepts for the implementation of digital transformation in schools in the vocational field of nutrition and home economics, to deal with scientific results, to apply the knowledge to occupation-specific teaching concepts, to plan teaching and learning processes; to develop occupation-specific teaching units and to reflect on the results strengthens the students' professional competence.

The seminar takes place together with teachers from the Munich Municipal Vocational School for the Hotel, Restaurant and Brewing Industry. It is an offer within the framework of the university school concept, which provides for a strong interlocking of theory and practice
