Biosketch

Monica Déchène has been an external doctoral candidate at the Chair of Formal and Informal Learning at the Technical University of Munich since April 2024. After studying vocational education with a specialization in health and nursing sciences at TUM, she was a research assistant at the Chair of School and Teaching Research (Prof. Doris Holzberger) in 2023. At the end of 2023, she moved to the LMU Munich, where she works at the Institute of Communication Science as Evaluation Coordinator at the Munich Science Communication Lab. In her doctoral thesis, she researches learning in informal learning contexts, especially in museums, as well as in the context of Education for Sustainable Development and Planetary Health.

  • Planetary health in the context of education for sustainable development (ESD)
  • Science communication in educational research
