Bachelor- / Master- / IDP: XR Gastronomy: Preserving Culinary Intangible Cultural Heritage

Background:

This research will delve into the potential of Extended Reality (XR) and Large Language Models (LLMs) like GPT-4 in preserving and teaching culinary elements of intangible cultural heritage. It will examine how food traditions contribute to cultural identity and the role of these technologies in effectively transmitting this knowledge. The study will analyze how XR technologies offer immersive learning experiences, making the process of understanding and recreating heritage recipes more engaging. In tandem, the role of LLMs will be evaluated, primarily focusing on their ability to provide detailed, step-by-step instructions, contextual explanations, and real-time assistance.
