Students Research Assistant (f/m/d) Wanted

About us
With immediate effect, the School of Social Sciences and Technology – Department of Educational Sciences at the Technical University of Munich is looking for a student/scientific research assistant at the Professorship of Psychology of Teaching and Learning, with a contract start aimed for September 2025.
Our professorship deals with research questions in the context of empirical educational research. From a pedagogical-psychological perspective, we investigate how the professional competencies of teachers and school conditions affect the quality of teaching. Our aim is to make scientific findings accessible to school practice.
Your support
- Literature research and preparation plus borrowing of appropriate texts
- Support in preparing publications (e.g. formatting, creating tables)
- Conducting studies, entering and analyzing data, assisting in preparation of scientific publications
- Creation of new formats for teaching
- General organizational and administrative tasks
Work Scope
- Approx. 6–10 hours per week
Duration
- Start: From approx. September 2025
- Initial contract: 12 months
- If suitable, further employment and longer-term cooperation will be sought.
About you
- Interest in empirical educational research
- Basic knowledge of empirical research methods (quantitative/qualitative)
- Willingness to familiarize yourself with data analysis tools (e.g. SPSS, R) and literature reference management programs (e.g. Citavi, Endnote)
- Confident use of common Office applications
- Ability to work independently, a team player, reliability, and a friendly demeanor
- Most tasks require German at native speaker level, others excellent knowledge of English required
Candidates
Students of the following or related fields:
- Teaching
- Educational Sciences
- Psychology
- Other subject-related qualifications (e.g. strong knowledge of statistics)
In Bachelor’s or Master’s programs.
