Bio
Gamze Sökücü is a visiting researcher at the Chair of Human-Centered Technologies for Learning (HCTL) at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and a PhD candidate in Computer Education and Instructional Technology (CEIT) at Middle East Technical University (METU), Türkiye, under the supervision of Professor Dr. Erkan Er. She holds BA, MA and PhD (ABD) degrees in English Language Teaching. Her doctoral research at METU, funded by TÜBİTAK, investigates AI-driven feedback mechanisms to support second language (L2) learning and foster self-regulated learning in digital environments.
Before joining HCTL, she accumulated over fifteen years of experience in higher education as an English language instructor, testing and assessment unit member, skill coordinator, IT consultant, and vice principal, leading initiatives in LMS integration, GDPR compliance, and faculty professional development. Her work in instructional design, language education, and data-informed learning design bridges educational technology with pedagogy, reflecting a sustained interest in how emerging technologies can foster human-centered, evidence-based learning, with a particular focus on second language learning and acquisition.
