LEARN

Clearing House Unterricht

On the platform Clearing House Unterricht the team of experts summarizes recent research-synthesis on effective STEM-teaching. You can find short reviews, podcasts and further material regarding subjects like multimedia learning or inquiry-based learning on the Website.

Schule ProMINT

Within the project "Schule ProMINT" there has been developped a booklet about how to succeed in creating schools with a main focus on STEM. It addesses to schools that wish to establish such a main focus. The booklet links best-practice examples of STEM schools with findings from Educational Research.

Further Education Series for supervising teachers

Within the research project TUMConnect, researchers have developped a continuing education series for supervising teachers: The participants elaborates relevant topics for teacher student and pre-service teachers. The different modules contain theoretical input, reflection of several classroom and guidance situations as well as exchanging experiences.

WATCH

Watchroom: exemplary videos of innovative teaching concepts

Within the project "TUMExperTeach" researchers of the Chair have developped classroom videos together with teachers and teacher educators. Theyshow laureates of innovative teaching concepts and finalists of the German Teacher Prize and other projects that are worthy an award. The videos are linking sequences of teaching situations, interviews with experts and visualize  single steps during classes.

Skyline Lectures

The TUM School of Education regularly invites Educational Reseachers to hold lectures about current topics and challenges towards a contemporary teacher education. The lectures are recorded and put online.

TRAIN

Observer

Using the Observer Research Tool pre-service teachers might train to observe and assess lessons professionally and at the same time train their pedagogical/psychological knowledge. With the assistance of the Oberver Tool they rate or assess filmed classroom scenes. Subseuently they can compare their own assessment with the assessment of experts.

Track your practicum

Track your Practicum helps teacher students to capture their first experiences in practice on the smarthone while they absolve their TUMpaedagogicum I. Each day of the internship and at the end of it they receive reports about  their fields of activity and their motivation. The final report additionally contains an evaluation about their competencies. Thus, teacher students might their experiences and role as a teacher -  and theo reflect  Abschlussreport erhalten sie zusätzlich eine Kompetenzeinschätzung. So können Lehramtsstudierende ihre Erfahrungen und ihre Rolle als Lehrperson reflektieren - also with regard to their study choice and their preferred career.
