Our research group focuses on the practical implementation of our scientific findings as well. Bridging theory and practice, this focus area aims to apply research findings to real-world contexts, emphasizing transformative educational experiences, interventions for diverse learners, digital competence in education, and collaborative work with institutions like museums to enhance learning opportunities. We are working on developing innovative teaching methods and concepts. These concepts aim to actively involve students in the learning process by encouraging them to apply active and self-directed learning strategies. We place a strong emphasis on sustainably strengthening students' competencies in theory development and testing.
In our ALLs study (Active Learning: Longitudinal Study), we survey students from various types of schools at regular intervals over a period of three years. With this study, we aim to explore how socio-economic, social, cognitive factors, and individual personality traits influence the effectiveness of active learning strategies. Our findings on ecological learning offer diverse opportunities to support and advise educational policymakers and practitioners in designing and implementing effective educational reforms.
