Career development
Michael Nickl is a research assistant at the Friedl Schöller-Endowed Chair for Teaching and Learning Research. He works on the project „Visit-Math 2“ within the DFG-sponsored research team Cosima on „Subproject 2: Fostering the diagnostic skills of future mathematics teachers: Individual learning potentials during the course of study and effects of adapting prompts as scaffolding.”. Previously, he studied mathematics and physics for grammar school teaching at the Ludwig-Maximilian-University Munich. He wrote his thesis on the moduli space of tori in the field of complex geometry.
During his studies he was engaged as a tutor in lectures of math as well as math education. He further supported scientific processes at math education group at LMU as a student assistant.
