Professional development program for Artificial Intelligence
Funding: Bavarian State Ministry for Education and Cultural Affairs
Duration: 1.9.2022 - 31.08.2025
About the project
The term artificial intelligence (AI) is currently on everyone's lips. Starting in September 2023, this highly topical subject area will enter the classrooms of Bavarian high schools. With the LehrplanPLUS, the subject of computer science has been made compulsory in the curriculum for students of all educational backgrounds in the 11th grade. One of the topics covered in this grade is artificial intelligence, which is also taken up again intensively in the upper secondary level.
In order to optimally prepare computer science teachers for the new content, we are launching a big AI training offensive in cooperation with the Bavarian State Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs from September 1, 2022. In this project, a basic and an advanced training course will be developed to provide computer science teachers with the subject content and didactic skills necessary for successful teaching - using concrete materials for use in the classroom. In addition, current topics and possible applications of artificial intelligence are discussed to provide teachers with examples for the highest possible level of practical orientation in the classroom.
Information on registration, procedure, and dates of the training courses can be found here.
